PCLT brings both new construction and older homes
into trust.
How can I buy a home?
- Homebuyers pre-qualify with PCLT and seek out
a home to purchase on the private market.
- At closing, the homebuyer purchases the house
and PCLT buys the underlying land.
- PCLT typically pays $30,000 to $50,000 for
the land, lowering the purchase price for the buyer.
How can I buy a home?
- PCLT works in partnership with community development
corporations and market rate developers to build new
homes for sale
- Land for new land trust homes is often donated
by the City of Portland or Multnomah County. Once construction
is complete, we sell the house at a price significantly below
market.
- At closing, the homebuyer purchases the house
and PCLT receives the underlying land.
